3 Prayers for Stronger Relationships

Whether your relationship is the best it's ever been, hanging on by a thread or somewhere in between, the best thing you can do for it is to pray. If you want strong relationships that continue to flourish, then prayer cannot be your last resort. It must always be your first weapon in the arsenal against the attack of the enemy. Here are three prayers you can use today.

PRAYER FOR BETTER COMMUNICATION

Father, today I approach your divine presence because I have been given access through the blood of Jesus Christ. First, I want to repent for my lack of proper communication. For the times when I should have reneged in saying the wrong words or when I should have spoken up but I stayed silent. For every deceitful word that was spoken that disrupted proper communication and every time I let pride keep me from apologizing. For all of it, I repent. Forgive me God.

As I confess my sins, please wash me thoroughly and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Give me the strength to be able to confess my faults to others so that I will be healed because if I hide my sins, I will not prosper.

I now declare by the blood of Jesus that I am free. I speak restoration in my spirit, soul, body and mind. I'm trusting you, Lord, to help me to live restored. I humble myself and ask for the blockages that keep me from understanding others to be removed.

With a strong resolve in my heart I declare that I'm an overcomer through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. I declare that I will do everything in my power to communicate at a greater level. And I declare that no weapon formed against my communication will prosper and by the strength of Jesus Christ I am strong and I live victoriously in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

PRAYER FOR FINANCIAL PROVISION

Dear God of the universe, thanks for Your love and mercies towards me, even in my times of failure. I really do appreciate Your love. Lord, I'm sorry for the times that I have handled Your resources incorrectly. The times when I should have given my tithes and offering or given to the less fortunate but didn't because I was fearful that You would not provide for me. The times when I wasted wealth or hoarded wealth instead of being obedient to You. Forgive me, God.

It is You, Lord, that has given me power to get wealth, according to Joshua 1:8. I pray that from this time forward I will never forget that everything in this world belongs to you. I pray over my relationships, Joshua 24:15, that we will serve the Lord. I pray that in my family and in my relationships, we will see the outpouring of your financial provision. Without reservation, I make this declaration, that we are no longer slaves to fear. We will listen to your directives as you teach us to handle Your finances correctly in Jesus name. Grant us the strength to always do what is right with Your finances. Cause us to see an outpouring of blessing in our finances as we give to You and trust You with our whole lives.

Thank You for being a generous God. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

PRAYER FOR ADAPTABILITY AND RESILIENCE

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of relationships—whether in marriage, family, friendships, or community. You designed us for connection, and yet, we know that relationships are not always easy. There are moments of joy, but also moments of struggle. Help us to approach these challenges with a heart that is willing to adapt, to grow, and to love even when it’s hard. Give us wisdom to see that change is not always a threat, but often an opportunity to strengthen the bonds You've given us.

Lord, when plans shift and expectations go unmet, remind us that You are still in control. Help us to be flexible, to embrace change with grace, and to trust that You are working all things together for our good. Teach us not to hold so tightly to our own way that we miss the beauty of what You are doing in our relationships. Instead of frustration, let patience take root. Instead of resistance, let understanding grow. May our love be resilient—able to withstand trials and come out stronger on the other side.

Father, in moments of conflict or misunderstanding, soften our hearts. Give us the humility to listen, the courage to apologize, and the strength to forgive. May we reflect Your love—a love that is steadfast, sacrificial, and full of grace. Help us to be quick to encourage, slow to anger, and always eager to build up rather than tear down.

Above all, Lord, remind us that our ultimate hope is in You. No relationship is perfect, but You are. When we feel weak, You are our strength. When we are unsure, You are our wisdom. Keep our hearts anchored in You so that, no matter what changes come, we can love well and honor You in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
